Facebook announced a new way to share on News Feed today. People can now post voice clips directly to Facebook. This feature is called voice posts.

Facebook wants to give people more options for sharing their thoughts. Sometimes typing isn’t the best way. Maybe you’re busy or find writing hard. Voice posts offer a simpler alternative. You can just speak your update.
Making a voice post is straightforward. Open the Facebook app on your phone. Start creating a new post like usual. Now you’ll see a microphone icon. Tap that icon to start recording. Hold the button while you speak. Release the button when you finish talking. You get one minute per voice clip. Listen back to your recording before sharing. You can delete it and start over if needed.
The company sees this as helpful for many people. It might be easier for folks who struggle with typing. People driving could use it safely. Others might just prefer speaking sometimes. They feel voice adds more personality and emotion. Text posts can sometimes feel flat.
Voice posts appear in the News Feed like other posts. Friends see the audio clip displayed. They tap the play button to hear it. They can also like or comment on voice posts. Comments work the same as always.
